A friend just sent me this set of pictures, which are a disgrace to us all, where is this happening, Costa Rica, so make sure you don't go on holiday there and give them any of your support or money until this is stopped. When are we going to learn that this stunning planet is not just ours to rape and pillage.

The Turtle eggs are stolen - harvested if you prefer ( I prefer Stolen myself, harvested is not the right word here, this is wholesale theft and murder) - to be sold.

NOTHING LIKE A
PICTURE
TO
EXPLAIN AN EXTINCTION, aren't you just so proud to be human and the most intelligent animal in the world

This type of thing happens all over the world. On the International Falconry Forum, a fellow in Hanoi felt sorry for the poor birds taken from their nests and sold as 'pets' on the hot, dirty city streets. He rescued two, a sparrow hawk and a changeable hawk eagle. With the coaching of us on the IFF, we assisted him with training and getting both birds hunting. Also, started his interest in wildlife and falconry. So, we will probably have a huge advocate for conservation in such a humble start. It only takes a few to be taught conservation ethics and we can help prevent such pillaging of our wildlife.

Hello

I have to say that keeping a weblog can at times become compulsive and at other times a chore. Sometimes I am berrated for not keeping it up and sometimes I get wonderful comments from people who follow the news of the Centre.

It is fun to share the daily goings on here, some good and some bad, some funny and some sad, but all a part of our daily lives.
And as I said before its a pretty cool to be here and it is a great place to visit, you should try coming and watching the birds and meeting the staff and of course the dogs.

An interesting video on Lead

An interesting video on Lead

I find it staggering that people who want to hunt don't see the value in changing their ammunition from lead to a safer product. We have stopped using lead in petrol, in paint, in our water pipes, but they still want to use lead - ah well, apparently eating it not only kills birds but leads to reduced intelligence in humans......................

NO ONE is asking you to stop legal and genuine hunting, they are just asking you to change your ammunition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
